‘3 Acne Day Free In’ or Acne Free in 3 Days - Another Acne Myth?

Is it possible for 3 acne day free in? (Evidently jumbled- it should be ‘acne free in 3 days’). During a keyword search for acne, the keyword “3 acne day free in” and acne free in 3 days crops up regularly. At first one thought that this must be some mistake on the part of the search engines. But then search with these keywords was quite revealing. There were a number of web pages on the keyword’3 acne day free in’, some with high sales pitch on the instant cure for acne!

As a dermatologist with 25 years of experience in treating acne, it is really perplexing to see such misleading claims that could fool gullible teens. The interesting fact is that such unethical and highly improbable claim is made on web pages by lay persons who have no medical background. Their only qualification to prescribe the ‘3 acne day free in’ cure is that they have suffered from acne, and have discovered a cure for acne which would make your ‘3 acne day free in’ !

This also raises an interesting question: Should non-medical persons without any background of medical education be allowed to prescribe treatment on or off the web? Who will decide whether the patient is suffering from acne vulgaris or some other similar facial eruptions that mimic acne? And what is the guarantee that the prescribed treatment will not adversely affect the patient?

The only acne which could be cured in 3 days (3 acne day free in) is not acne! It could be a simple follicular infection on the beard, called sycosis barbae. Or it could be an allergic reaction to some cosmetic application on the face. Now the interesting fact: yes, these eruption which are not acne, can be cured in 3 days! But not the acne. Control (not cure) of acne could take weeks or months, with chances of getting recurrences depending upon the patients’ food habits, stress and hormonal status.

To conclude, acne free in 3 days or ‘3 acne day free in’ is a myth.

Is Fast Weight Loss Safe?

Your high school reunion is right around the corner, and the one thing you need most of all is a fast weight loss program. Somewhere along the line, you have managed to pick up a few extra pounds that must go. Think fast, do the research, and see just what kinds of programs offer you the ability to quickly drop those extra pounds. Make sure that any program for this weight loss that you consider is not a risk to your health. Remember that any diet designed to help you lose weight quickly, is probably not safe for long term use.

One short-term example of a diet promising significant weight loss, that has been around over thirty years, is the cabbage soup diet. You may be familiar with this diet; it requires you to eat cabbage soup all day, every day, as much as you want, as often as you want. What makes cabbage useful for this purpose? Cabbage is referred to as a negative calorie food. It has virtually no calories, and is very high in fiber. Some allowable add ons to this soup would be, mushrooms, celery, onions, or peppers, and whatever spices you may prefer.

As each day passes, you are allowed to add a little something extra to eat that day. These included extras will usually consist of fruit or vegetables. At the end of the first week you can add a little beef to your menu. Add to this a minimum of ten glasses of water daily, and by the end of the week those few extra pounds should be gone. Either that, or you have floated away. This is not a diet that should be continued beyond seven days. Why? It would not be healthy to do so!

People seeking a fast weight loss solution sometimes take drastic measures out of desperation. As if the cabbage diet wasn’t drastic enough! It is extremely important that anyone seeking to drop the extra pounds using drastic dieting methods, must make sure they have no existing health problems that may worsen with one of these diets.

An example of a particularly drastic diet is one called the master cleanse. On this ten day diet, the dieter must consume only lemon juice (fresh squeezed only,) maple syrup, cayenne pepper, and water. This is all that is allowed for ten full days! Many practitioners of this diet try to stay with it longer then the recommended ten days. This should only be done with extreme caution and under your doctors supervision. This diet is popular with celebrities, and has been used with great success. This also, is not a fad diet that disappears after a few years and is then forgotten about. The master cleanse originated in the 1940s, and believe it or not, was created by a nutritionist.

What’s most important no matter what kind of diet you choose; one that offers a limited fast loss, or one structured to take off substantial weight over a long period of time, is that your overall health comes first! So, when tempted to go for the fast weight loss program for that high school reunion, check with your doctor to be sure that there are no health risks.

Ways to Earn with Social Bookmarking

Bookmarking is a feature that has long been in use by many internet users. It is used in marking a link or a web page for easy referencing, more of a personal thing. But with social bookmarking, you are actually marking that link because some other people are able to see the marks that you have placed on a specific website, thus comes “socialization”. Social Bookmarking is capable of generating income to internet users. Below are some of the ways on how a website becomes beneficial with social boomarking.

• Bookmark that widely spreads. It is this simple. When a person socially bookmarks your personal website on his own machine, that person actually shares your site not only with himself but to all people that are able to see his personal site – thus, social bookmarking. It becomes a vicious cycle of social bookmarking because the person who did socially bookmark your site will also have friends who may do the same thing.

• Links that spread. A website usually has links on it to advertise his or other people’s products. Social boomarking is a perfect avenue for an online business person because every site that contains links which were actually socially bookmarked will surely generate more visits and traffic.

• Repetitive Visits. The more social bookmarkings you have, the better because that ensure more and more repeated visitors thereby would mean more traffic on your website. In order for a re-visiting to be done, you have give these people a reason why they should do so.

Anger And Rage Addiction - How To Break The Cycle And Return To Health

The addictive cycle begins with just not feeling right. Your needs aren’t being met, you may feel abused or neglected, either in the past or the present. You’ve tried to fix things in different ways, but nothing seems to work. You’re just not getting what you want. You may not tell anyone, but you feel a lot of anxiety and pain, almost all of the time. The anger just builds and builds. You may have some physical pain from this, or the feeling that you’re going to explode.

And then you do explode.

Usually when you explode, someone gets hurt. Some of your stress is relieved, and you might possibly even have felt good for a few moments while you were releasing, but it doesn’t last. The person or people you hurt may be the ones you love the most in the world–either way you don’t like the results of your explosion. You swore you wouldn’t do it again, but you just can’t seem to stop. You feel guilty, and you may or may not be able to apologize. When you do apologize nobody really believes you anymore. You might even think you were justified in your explosion, blaming someone else for how you felt.

Your needs still are not met. The problem is worse. But you got the temporary relief from anger/rage release, so if something doesn’t happen to break the cycle you will probably do it all again. This is addiction. You don’t have to live like this.

CYCLE BREAKERS

Fortunately, there are many different ways to break the cycle of anger/rage addiction.

1. Learn to meet your unmet needs. There is a sad, frightened child in every anger/rage addict, whether they know it or not. Once you begin to meet some of your own emotional needs, you will be more easily satisfied with what others can give you, taking a lot of stress out of relationships.

2. Identify the old behavior patterns and faulty thought processes that you have been using that maintain your addiction and destructive behavior. You may need Anger Management Counseling or an Anger Management Program to help you with that.

3. Giving yourself some relief from physiological distress can also help to break anger/rage addiction cycles. Exercise, a healthy diet, relaxation or meditation can be very helpful in this area. Getting plenty of rest is also essential to alleviating physiological distress.

4. Finding healthy ways to release your anger and rage can be extremely helpful for breaking the addictive cycle. You can read Dr. DeFoore’s book or listen to his Anger Management Techniques to learn more about healthy anger and rage release.

5. Experiencing physical release and relief with healthy anger work can be a major breakthrough for some people suffering from anger/rage addiction. Feeling powerful, being loud and using physical aggression in safe, non-destructive ways lets you know that it’s okay to be strong and take charge of your situation. And no one has to get hurt in the process.

WHEN RAGE BECOMES ADDICTIVE

The powerful rush of adrenaline that often accompanies anger feels good. It actually gives a person greater physical strength temporarily while the adrenaline is being released. After the release of anger, there is often a sense of euphoria and general well-being. If there has been a significant physical exertion during the expression of anger, there may also be endorphins released into the bloodstream, creating an even greater feeling of pleasure. All of this adds up to one point: you can get addicted to explosive releases of anger and rage.

It feels bad to store up feelings. Sometimes you get tense, irritable and uneasy. You may even develop physical pain from the tension, and possibly develop stress-related illnesses. The relief from tension experienced during aggressive behavior actually creates good feelings on a physical level, although you may be in great pain emotionally. That’s the nature of addiction. When pleasant feelings become associated with unhealthy and destructive behavior, you get addicted to that behavior.

The addictive cycle helps to illustrate how the pattern of suppression and explosion develops. The cycle begins when your needs for love, nurturance, support and security go unmet in childhood. This includes experiences of neglect, abandonment, rejection and the many types of direct abuse. Part of being born as a vulnerable child in an imperfect world means having experiences that are painful and frightening. One of the ways we protect ourselves from more pain is through the use of anger.

If your parents were not educated about the healthy value of anger, they may have punished or rejected you when you displayed this emotion. Unfortunately, you continued to be hurt in various ways, and many of your needs continued to go unmet. This causes a buildup of anger and frustration, leading to a breaking point in a situation you feel is “safe” to release your anger. The problem is that you tend to feel the safest (and the most angry) in your home with those you love. This is also where you tend to find the “last straw” that sends you “over the edge.”

That’s when the explosion occurs, followed by the rush of power and energy. At this point in the cycle, you may be verbally, emotionally or physically abusive. This usually leads to an apology or an attempt to “make it up to” the person or persons you have hurt. Some people don’t do this part; they just retreat into tremendous shame and guilt and don’t say a word about what has happened. Some powerful denial and blocking can occur at this point if the person is incapable of processing what has actually happened.

When apology or compensation does occur, the victim(s) may or may not forgive the abuser. It really does not matter. If the shame goes unhealed, the forgiveness will not be accepted. What matters is whether or not the person in the addictive cycle takes responsibility in the present, and takes care of unfinished business from the past. If they do, they’ve broken the cycle. If not, they will repeat the cycle and there will be more pain and suffering for all concerned. Fortunately, there are many effective ways to break the addiction cycle, and therefore no one has to be a victim to their addiction.

WHAT YOU HAVE TO LOOK FORWARD TO

When you have effectively broken the anger and rage addiction cycle, your anger becomes healthy. Healthy anger is one of the most powerful resources you can have, and you can use it in positive ways to create the life of your dreams.

Gaining Profits on Social Media

When social media is used on its optimum, a sure fire profit is at hand. But ensuring that you get an optimized social media is one thing that you should hurdle. Getting the best out of your social media can bring fortunes to you and mastering the craft of optimizing it another story to tell. So, are there really any secrets towards attaining an optimized social media? The good news is that, yes it has secrets!

a. Social Media always begins with a perfect title. Playing with the titles can of course bring something good on the standing of your website. By putting all the essential keywords on your title or subject line puts your site into a better standing, thus good ranking. The more essential keywords placed on your title, the more it becomes searchable; the more searches it bring, the better ranking it gives.

b. Social Media is about building links too. Your website is kind of dependent too on the link embedded on it. The more links that are attached to your site, the more it is trusted by other online social media writers. It is important that you try to make your site appealing to possible links to other sites because it gives your site an air of credibility.

c. Do unto others. If you wish your site to contain more links, then submit your articles too on other sites to embed your links on theirs. This is a good “socialization” with other sites. It generates a web of reaction to all linked sites.

Indonesian Surf Travel - Mentawai Islands Boat Trip

In April of 2006 I set off on a 16 day trip with a couple of friends to the Mentawai Islands off the west coast of Sumatra. Leading up to the trip I did a lot of research on how to prepare for the unknown. The trip was virtually charter boat based with only a couple days on land at the beginning and end of the trip. Granted, on-board accommodations were plush by local standards. Still, I wanted to be prepared.

Some important things to pack are light cotton long sleeve shirts and pants, a couple wide brim hats (the sun is intense along the equator). Plenty of waterproof sunblock; 50 spf would be recommended. Take along reef booties, the low cut, split toe kind work great. Powdered vitamin packets that dissolve in water, energy bars and sea sick aids would be a good idea if you are prone to motion sickness.

Mosquito repellant with Deet! This is a must, especially if you will be on land in the evenings. The mosqitoes are relentless at dusk and dawn. The main concern is in populated areas where mosquitoes can easily feed from one person to another possibly spreading malaria along the way. While on the boat you still need to be vigilant, wear your long clothes and lather up with repellant, but you can relax a bit. Make sure you have some lights on to keep an eye out for mosquitoes. The main ones to watch out for have the ‘tiger stripes” on the wings. At dusk you will notice campfire smoke wafting up through the trees along from the island villages. The locals do this to keep the “mozzies” at bay. Do some research on anti-malarial drugs and consult your doctor.

Bring along a first aid kit. If you travel with someone who works in the healthcare industry have them bring sutures, anesthetic, etc… If not get ahold of some if you can, there is bound to be someone on the boat who is experienced in stitching. Take butterfly bandages to help close up any cuts from the reef while out of the water.

Speaking of the water (from the hotel or restaurant plumbing). Don’t drink it. Go bottled. Period. End of topic.

For the start of your trip you may want to consider a sleep aid depending how far you are traveling. I flew out of San Diego stopping in Japan, Singapore and Central Sumatra before landing in Padang. It was just about 24 hours worth of flying over about a couple day period. The flight was long and almost unbareable toward the end. Consider taking along something such as Ambien or go natural with Melatonin. Remember not to drink alcohol while taking a sleep aid. Consult with your doctor.

So to recap on first aid supplies and other suggestions keep the following on your list:

Quality Cloth Medical Tape, Bandages & Latex Band Aids, Second Skin, Sleeping Pills, Betadine, Hydrogen Peroxide, Lomotil or other Anti-Diarrhea, Anti-Biotic Ointment, Anti-Fungal Powder, Aspirin, Sun Block & Lip Block and Sunburn Lotion.

When traveling to this region of the world along the equator, it is very important to research and prepare for the climate and local customs. Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world and their religious customs run deep. You will most likely not run into fanitical Muslims who harbor great resentment for Westerners. You may want to avoid areas in Jakarta, Timor though. The Indonesian people are largely warm and welcoming; the epitome of happiness and a great many of them are dirt poor! We could learn alot from them.

When in public it is considered respectful to wear long pants as exposing alot of skin, even for men, is considered somewhat inappropriate. If you are a surfer and want to wear shorts in the high, heat high humidity. Go ahead, they will usually understand however; do not enter into any religous site or otheriwise religously significant location in your baggies.

I hope this has been of value, feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

How to Get Cheap Car Insurance in Indianapolis, Indiana

In Indianapolis, Indiana drivers should be aware of the fact the state government’s Department of Insurance doesn’t set car insurance rates. This may seem like it’s a precursor to companies charging more than is necessary, but it actually has an opposite affect. Motorists in Indianapolis who are looking for car insurance may actually enjoy the benefits of the competition going on between the different insurance companies.

There are naturally other ways to go about finding cheap car insurance in Indianapolis, Indiana and the first place to look may surprise you. If you are already paying premiums for a life, health or home policy, ask that insurance company if they handle car insurance as well. They may offer a discount on the second policy you secure with them. In fact, many companies offer a discount on every type of insurance policy you purchase from their company. It certainly doesn’t hurt to ask if this is an option. If you do decide to go this route, ensure that you carefully consider the financial consequences of switching to any other companies for any of the types of insurance in the future.

Another great way to get a cheaper car insurance rate is to ask about any discounts for low mileage. Some people only use their vehicles once in a while. This means that the majority of the time the car or truck is sitting on their property. Many insurance companies offer cheaper rates to individuals who fit this mold. There is generally a requirement of having to validate the mileage by signing a form attesting to it each year when the car insurance is renewed. Obviously you don’t want to cheat on this if you are driving more than is permitted, but if you are an occasional driver, use this discount to its full advantage so you can get cheap car insurance in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Ginger: The Incredible Spice And Herbal Supplement

Do you suffer from the pain of arthritis? Do you get menstrual discomfort
that makes even your daily routine difficult? Is your energy level low?
Are you concerned about preventing heart disease? Are you interested in
fighting off the seasonal cold and flu? Do you prefer alternative
medicines over drugs?

Ginger is a wonderful preventative and alternative medicine for many
ailments. It’s powerful antioxidant effects and medicinal powers are still
widely unrecognized by many. However, countless research has been done that
shows the benefits of this amazing spice.

Some of the health benefits of ginger are:

Cardiovascular: The first documented report of ginger’s potential as a heart
disease medicine came unexpectedly from a group of Cornell Medical School
researchers in 1980. One of the researchers discovered that his blood did
not respond to usual aggregating agents that normally cause clogged
arteries, a major cause of heart attacks. The aggregating agents were
inhibited through the consumption of ginger. Ginger also showed no side
effects.

Arthritis: In 1989, two Danish studies were performed with arthritic
patients. They consumed either fresh or powdered ginger for a period of
three months. The majority of patients reported the ginger produced better
relief of pain, swelling and stiffness. In fact, some of the patients
observed added benefits of taking ginger. Some of those benefits included
fewer colds, improvement of stomach irritation and less constipation. Again
without side effects. (Author of the study-K.C. Srivastava)

Colds: “The hot decoction of ginger tea is an excellent diaphoretic for
breaking up incipient colds. It stimulates the circulation and the warmth
it imparts to the body corrects the surface chilliness associated with
colds….lt stimulates the flow of the digestive juices and the warmth it
imparts to the stomach is gratifying.”
A. W. Kuts-Cheraux. N.D.

*Ginger powder capsules or the root of ginger can be used in place of ginger
tea.

Immune System: Ginger not only maintains immune system functioning but
studies in Montreal and in Tokyo (in 1955 and 1979 respectfully) concluded
that the spice may actually enhance immunity. To achieve its effect, it
appears that ginger functions from the most fundamental levels of the immune
system. Ginger might stimulate host resistance against various diseases.

In order to maintain a healthy immune system, our bodies must rid themselves
of harmful toxins. Ginger is a powerful way to detoxify our bodies. By
detoxifying our bodies and building our immune system, we increase our
energy level and stamina.

Over a period of 5,000 years, ginger traveled from South-east Asia to the
New World. Considered a treasure by some of the great figures of history,
its ancient trade helped shape nations and ensure its worldwide cultivation.

Ginger is a remarkably safe herb. Both fresh and dry ginger are recommended
forms of supplementation. There will be different properties gained from
each. Ginger is commercially available in many forms including fresh (using
the roots), dried, syrup, capsule and extract. Always consult a physician
before taking any alternative medicine.

D And C Risks

Sometimes we write articles because they hit close to home. In this case, very close to home. My wife, who is the love of my life, is going in for her first D and C. The reasons aren’t important to this article, but because this woman means the world to me, I wanted to know exactly what this procedure was and what potential risks came with it. So I researched this topic until my eyes were bloodshot. In this article, you will learn what a D and C is, what it’s commonly used to check for and what the potential risks are. If you’re confronted with having to get one of these procedures done, this article should at least prepare you for the experience.

Let me start off by saying that a D and C is considered a relatively minor procedure and the risks are minimal and serious problems resulting from the procedure are very rare. However, there are risks that you should be aware of. But let’s first start off with just what a D and C is.

Okay, so what’s a D and C? Well, it’s a procedure where the doctor scrapes the tissue of a woman’s uterus. The reason it’s called a D and C is because the D stands for dilation, which is where they widen the cervix in order to get the instrument inside and the C stands for curettage, where they actually scrape the uterus. Thus, D and C. The procedure is usually performed in a hospital under anesthesia.

There are a number of reasons for why a doctor might want to do a D and C. The most common is after an abortion or miscarriage. But other common reasons would be when you have an irregular period and the doctor wants to determine if it’s because you’re reaching menopause or might potentially have cancer. Other reasons for a D and C would be thickening of the uterus or even an embedded IUD.

As I said earlier, a D and C is considered a relatively minor procedure and there are very few risks. However, they do exist. One of the biggest risks, believe it or not, has nothing to do with the procedure or scraping itself. It has to do with the anesthesia. Some women have adverse reactions to the anesthesia and have problems breathing afterwards. This is not to say that there aren’t risks from the procedure itself. Common risks are bleeding afterwards and possible infection. The more serious risks, which are very rare, are a punctured uterus or tearing of the cervix. But again, these are very rare occurrences.

If you’re considering having a D and C done, for whatever the reason, you can rest easy. These procedures are generally safe and rarely do complications occur. And believe me, as much as I worry about my wife, if I’m telling you not to worry too much, you can be pretty sure that I’m right on the money.

Better having the procedure than not knowing if there is something potentially very wrong.

Knowing the Secrets of Podcasting

Quite frankly, for people who are of age and semi-modernized who get used to hearing sound and music through their CD component player, the technology of podcasting is something that they are very much unaware of. Podcasting has indeed captured the majority of music lovers and listeners. I-pods and MP4s have been instrumental in the quick evolution of podcasting. Making your own podcast is not as difficult as how it seems. In fact, it was never as complicated. Read on to get some ideas on how you can start up your own podcast.

• Know the trend in music. With podcasting, dynamism is one great factor to stay. To achieve that, you have to keep yourself abreast of the latest and trendiest sounds or music. You have know what basically circulates in the music industry to be up trend.

• Know your limit. Listening requires a great deal of motivation. To sustain the motivation to listen, you have to know when people get tired of just listening. Usually, it takes about 5 and 10 minutes for a person to stick and listen to something or someone. This means that your podcast should be something that is of considerable length. Otherwise, makes sure that there is something far more interesting inside that podcast to maintain the interest of the listener.

• Know your listeners. Getting to know for whom you are creating the podcast will help you a lot towards developing and recording the best audio product. This allows you to properly incorporate what you think is going to sound best for these people to listen.
